5, 6 and 7 months check in

Ellis has grown up so much in the last few months and I am just getting to post his stats. At 5 months EP went from eating baby purees to solid food. And he eats everything...he has no teeth but can gnaw on meat like nothing you have seen before. He still takes about 30-35 oz of formula a day and started drinking from a straw cup at about 6.5 months. He is growing larger everyday. He is already in 6-12 months or 12 months size clothing, but still would rather be naked then dressed up. Between 6.5 to 7 months he started army crawling all over and then two weeks later he learned to crawl up on his hands and knees, though he much prefers to army crawl because he moves faster. At 7.5 months he started pulling up to his knees on anything he could find, even though most of the time he fell over. He can also sit up on his own. And in the last week he has now started pulling up to his feet and trying to get up on anything and crawl over it. So we have baby gates on order that should be here next week for the stairs. He still doesn't say any words or anything more than screeching, gahgah, Ooooo and crying. But I am guessing that will come soon. Emery is still a sassy 4 year old. She is now in PREK4 and already getting in trouble for talking in school, she gets it from her Mama! She has opinions about everything and already thinks she knows everything. But she is so bright and smart. She continues to amaze me in the knowledge she has and the ideas she comes up with. She is a story teller and a collector of random objects. She loves adventures and learning something new all the time. She is all legs with a round but long cherub face and light blondish-brown hair with spiral curls (and it looks great WHEN she allows me to fix it).

A late 5months

Ellis turned five months in June. He is already moved into six months size clothes and size 1 shoes. His thighs are so chunky it's simply adorable!
He has brown eyes but sometimes they look gray too. And his hair is a light brown, well the little bit of hair he has anyway. Everyone likes to rub his head because it's so soft.
He is "talking" a bunch with oohhs and gahs and screeching. He also does some weird moaning things too. He smiles a lot but rarely laughs. And when he does it's a short ha or a sort of snort.
He is grabbing and holding toys and trying to figure out how to move them from one hand to another. He is trying to hold his own bottle and grabs at anything that comes near him...including hair.
He is also trying to crawl already. He sticks his head down on the ground and butt up in the air and inchworms forward. He is rolling all over the place too.
Ellis is also eating purées of food. He's had no reactions to anything and eats it all. He loves food. Hopefully he will start sitting up soon and can get more real people food. So far he's tried bananas and apples he likes to suck on them.
He is still working on a sleeping pattern but is taking about three naps most days and sleeping from 7ish till 7:30am and waking up around 3-4 am to eat and go back to sleep. He wets through his diaper almost every night so I am getting him some overnight diapers maybe that will help keep him asleep if he isn't wet?
No teeth yet but lots of drool and chewing on his hands. And he really only cries if he's hungry or tired.

Ellis 4 month check in

Ellis is growing up. Today he turns four months old. Just a year ago we had no idea that we were pregnant and going to have a precious little boy.
Last week little man had two shots and a liquid shot. He cried for a very long time and so did I!
He is 24 1/4 inches long and 13 lbs 11 oz. He is in the 20th percentile for height and weight but his head is in the 50th percentile. Mr. big head. He is fully in size 3 months clothes and moving into 3-6 months size soon.
This past weekend was his Baptism at the St. Louis cathedral in New Orleans. It was a beautiful single ceremony with a lot of family. He was so blessed to have this moment to become a new little Christian. He was doted on and loved on the whole time. He doesn't know it yet but he is so blessed with his families. They are amazing.
So far he is rolling from his tummy to his back )started on his 11 week). He is rolling into his sides. I'm sure pretty soon he will be rolling everywhere. He loves to stand with help from whomever is holding him. He does bobble a lot but loves it. Ellis is drooling up a storm. Everything gets soaking wet on his front from the drool. The dr said she won't be surprised if he has teeth at his six month apt.
He is sitting up with support but is trying to figure it out own his own. I cannot wait for him to sit up...it sure will make it easier to go out with him.
He still needs to be swaddled and will sleep horrible without it. And he needs his paci when he is fussy and ready to sleep. But really the only time he cries is when he is hungry or tired. And he loves to be rocked to sleep and I love rocking him so it's a win win!
He is taking 5oz of a bottle at a time and about 6-7 bottles a day. He is sitting up in his bumbo and standing for a bit in his jumper. He doesn't like to be ignored.
Ellis smiles often though he doesn't giggle yet. His smile is just amazing he is so beautiful. He has a little side smirk that he does and looks just like his Daddy.
His eyes are so big and round and he is easy going and a overall happy baby.

Emery loves Ellis and likes to sing and dance and talk to him. She will tell him "Ellis Sissy is here" when he is whining. She rubs his little nearly bald head and kisses him often.
Emery is working on her manners and attitude because she wants to go to Midevil Times (which she calls Evil Times). And in order to earn that event she has to work on herself. She is doing semi ok with her chores and now has a chore chart. Simple things like dressing herself, brushing teeth and turning off her sound machine. She has yet to wake up at night to go to the bathroom so still in pull-ups. Let's hope that comes soon.
And she's eating more foods like lasagna and she even tried Grillades at her Mimi's house this weekend, she said it was too spicy.

Summer is about to start and we are making fm our plans!

11 weeks and 4 years 1 month

Ellis made 11 weeks this week. He is starting to look less like a shrunken old man and more like a baby. He is adorable! Still eating every 3-4 hours during the day and one 5 hour at night. Wearing 0-3 and 3 months size clothing and I'm about to move him up to size 2 diapers. On his 11 week birthday Ellis rolled from his tummy to his back. Since then he has done it on and off a bunch of times. He also figured out how to use his arms to swing at his hanging toys and kick them with his legs. Also he is cooing and babbling a lot more while he is awake and staying awake a bit longer. All in all he is doing great.

Emery is 4y1m and thinks she's turning 5 like tomorrow. It's all she talks about...my birthday I want this that or the other thing. Her sassy is still there but seems to be moving down a notch a bit. She still doesn't seem to have much self control and can't stop herself from doing what she was told not to do. Em loves her Kindle and it's been used as punishment from time to time. She is eating a bit more but it's still a struggle to get her to eat meats. She is all legs right now and so skinny. But she's so loving and cute and kind to others.

The many "words" of emery

Emery says things that crack us up often. She is so smart but gets words mixed up. So here is a few of the funny things she says.
Gobsticle course - obstacle course
Calories - cavities
Medium room - media room

9 weeks

Ellis turned 9 weeks today. He still hates tummy time but is doing a great job holding and lifting his head!
He got his tape off his ears today and we are waiting to see if they stay in place or constrict again. I sure hope they stay, I hate having to put him through getting that all done. But man they look so much better.
Tonight while we were letting him play on his toy mat he found his hands and started putting them in his mouth! Hooray! Another step in growing into a little man.
This weekend is Easter and we are traveling to visit his Grandparents in VP. They are so looking to forward to seeing him and us getting to see the whole family!
And lastly he is moving out of newborn size clothes into 0-3 months and is in a size one diaper! Also this week Ellis went to his first movie...lol, we saw Home. He was so good. He watched a bit then slept in the carrier against me.

Emery is 4 and Ellis is 7 weeks

This past week we went to the Dr with both kids for their checkups and dreaded shots! Emery turned 4 the week before and is a total chatterbox. She talks from the moment she wakes up till she finally passes out. Her sassy attitude can drive even the most patient person insane. She stomps her foot and makes huffing noises when she is mad. She talks back and can be downright mean on occasion when she doesn't get her way. Time outs happen often and even spankings! On the other hand she is loving and so smart! She can write her name and copy drawings, she draws people and makes up elaborate stories all the time. She loves creative projects and to cuddle. She is now 38 inches tall and 29lbs. Still small on the growth chart but at least she's growing. Still really picky with food. Em would rather a salad than a hamburger! Emerys birthday party was at main event this weekend. 30 kids showed up and it was a crazy fun event.
Ellis is 7 weeks going on 8 weeks. He is 10lbs 8oz and 21 1/4 inches long. He eats about 4 oz every 3-4 hours during the day and is going about 5hours at night. He started smiling last week not all the time but often enough. Tummy time is still not his favorite past time. He will lay in his back and watch the fan or hit some toys for a bit. His favorite thing is to be held sitting up. He does coo and screech. He still hasn't found his hands yet, but we are sure it will come soon!
He got his ear wells off but within two days they started to regress, so he now has the inside piece on with lots of tape on top of them. I cannot wait for it all to be off for good. He is so cute I just want to kiss him all the time.

Ellis 5 weeks

Ellis is eating up a storm. He is already downing 4 oz bottles about every three hours. I can't believe how much he eats.
His silent reflux is maybe getting better. I moved him to Zantac three times a day and started changing over his formula to the one with the rice starches in it to help keep it down.
Now if we could just get a bunch of sleep that would be great. Mostly he is still on a three hour schedule. I am trying dream feeds with him this week to see if we can get longer sleep.
It is icing again today brrrr it's been so cold here! His ear wells were suppose to be changed tomorrow but the roads will be bad so I am guessing that will be moved. We should only have two more weeks of the ear molds and then they come off.
I am guessing we will shave Ellis's head. With the loss of hair on top and the shaved sides he will look even more like an old man.

Ellis's first month

Well it's been a month of lots of strife but we are getting through. Ellis sleeps more during the day than at night for the most part. He has silent reflux and is on Zantac for now but will be moving to Prilosec soon as it's made by the compound pharmacy. We are hoping something helps him soon. He wakes up about an hour after falling asleep screaming.
The past few days have brought some changes. We are getting some coos and more awake time. Ellis has started batting at his toys on his mat and looking at people and faces.
Ellis's favorite things:
Eating, he's up to 3.5 oz every 2-3 hours
Peeing in the air!
He adores the ceiling fan. Esp when it's off.
Laying cheek to cheek with Mommy.
Long car rides.
Hearing his sisters voice.
Laying on Daddy's chest.

His dislikes:
Zantac medicine, taste gross
Not getting a bottle fast enough it being cold.
Gas pains
Tummy time

3 weeks and 3 days

Quick update.
So I stopped breastfeeding and pumping. Ellis was taking a lot out of me and needed more than I could give him. So now he's on formula and the last of the pumped milk.
We found out today he has reflux. So he was put on Zantac today. Praying it helps because last night he screamed for three hours. I am exhausted! But he does weigh 8lbs 8oz!!
Emery is sassy and lying and creating stories all the time. We are working on her behavior issues. However tonight she ate great! She is now 29 lbs.
we are praying for sleep tonight on all ends.
Emery and the Mr have a daddy daughter dance tomorrow. And she is excited about her date with Daddy!
