Ehh 16 weeks?

Now tell me this isn't crazy. First we are told we are due March 17 by the IVF Dr., Then by the OB Dr its March 18, now by the Perinatal Dr its March 19...someone make up your mind. Geeze. I am tired of all the date changes. Baby comes when it comes, you do all your weird dating and keep it to yourself. And really if you want to know I think more like March 6th time about.

And little one had the legs crossed the whole time. WOuldn't show nothing. But they continued to guess that its a girl. So yay Team Pink! I think we are pretty much settled that it will be a girl.

The pics are cute. I am feeling better each and everyday, execept for my sinuses draining. Maybe we will give this another shot next year!

16 Weeks

Wow we made it to the second trimester, to the begining of the 4th month, to 16 weeks. This little Tapeworm has been moving and a shaking off an on for weeks now. And I love it. Last night I think I may have felt something on the outside of my tummy and not on the inside. I can't wait till darling Mr. gets to feel it too. What a great time we are having.
Now time for the carpet and getting the bedroom set up. Need to get registered and be prepared for baby showers and what needs to be bought for this little one. Only 5 months left to go! And I need to be prepared!
This week thanks to one of our most special friends I bought a bassinet, pump, and boppy pillow. Then she lent me some big girl clothes and some baby jumpers! So cute.
Tomorrow will be our Dr. apt to hopefully figure out if its a boy or a girl! Geaux Team PINK! And also the day to say good bye to my ever loved Escape. Back to the dealership with you. She'd done me good for three years and now its time to move on.
This past weekend we got to watch our nephew marry our new niece (who we already love) and take on the roll of parent to his wife's precious little boy. He danced all around the floor and was so happy. And we are just so happy to have them enlarge our family even more! They were the ones who came to visit us just to go see Jack Johnson with us. They are so totally cool! (REF: Happy Feet)
I was wondering last night as I looked into the baby room last night...will the Tapeworm and all the stuff fit? I may have to use the guest room to help store things!
Anyway...I am slightly stressed and ready for work to be over. And just ready to bring this little one into the world.

San Fran and Food Crawling

We just got back from San Francisco. What an amazing trip! We Lit-tri-lee walked all of the town from China town to North Beach down to the wharf and into Nob hill and Union Square. And we ate our way around. Everytime I was hungry I ate. Ahhh best thing about being pregnant!
Our little Tapeworm decided it likes to fly. The whole flight TW was rolling around in there making me feel like I was popping some corn in my belly!
Then we went to Napa valley...amaze-balls! The Mr. now wants to retire there. I can't say I blame him, but I still feel like NOLA is where we belong! However our picnic at Rutherford Hill in the Olive Grove with a cheese and antipasto platter may have slightly changed my mind!
We got to see the Giants (baseball) play and then the Saints beat the 49ers! Bless you Boys!
Nothing much on the baby front. Still have the smallest belly in the world, however I am 15 weeks today and know that in the next few weeks I will be popping out. I am still hungry all the time. And the Tapeworm moves around from time to time.
Got some Dr. apts Oct 1 and 6 to see more about this.
Oh oh oh...we got our Crib! So Pretty...now we just need new flooring in the baby's room. And while we were shopping at H & M in San Fran, I just had to buy this little volure baby pants and shirt for the Tapeworm. Its gray folks...not gender specific.

Ok off to finish up the jobby job and then home to eat some leftovers and finish washing clothes and packing...on the road again to BR this weekend for our Nephews wedding!

Well Hello Belly and Flutters

As mentioned in an earlier post I have great abs. Well if there is anything about my body that is great its always been my abs. I don't even have to work on them and they look great. Its the one part of my body I have always been proud of, until this weekend! Upon putting on my cutest most adorable pink Polo dress I realized that I now have a baby gut AKA round belly, baby bump, belly! Oh my gosh. How cute is this? It definaltly is something to rest my hands on and show off!

Flutters...what is a flutter? A flutter is what some women describe as butterflies in the belly, I on the other hand say it feels more like what popcorn must feel like inside when it pops open. For the last week I have felt this weird sensation down where I am poking out! I thought this can not be, I cannot be feeling my tiny little Tapeworm just yet? But sure enough this is what it is. My little TW inside doing the little acrobats and tossing and turning and kicking me. It is so surreal when it happens. Its still not consistant and you can't feel it on the outside, but when it happens its like a shock. I have to just sit there and see if it will happen again. This is soo cool.

Two more days and we will be headed to California for a nice vacation and visit to one of my oldest and dearest friends. Hopefully I can take some naps on the crazy itenirary the Mr has us scheduled for on this trip! Boy I tell you this baby is going to go to more things before its born than after!

You need to eat more

But I already eat all the time. This is what transpired between me and the Dr. this week.
Dr. "all your testing is great. Completly normal ranges, however you are not gaining any weight"
Me: "but I eat all the time"
Dr. " you've barley gained a lb in three months"
Me: "but really I eat all the time"
Dr. "add protien to your juice"
Me: "but I eat all the time"

So it goes. I do eat all the time. All day long. And when I have to eat I have to eat, there is no waiting. But come on 1 lb in 3 months. If I was on a diet I couldn't even do that! Its got to be the great metabolisim this little tapeworm is giving me. Yet another reason I think I am having a tapeworm and not a baby!
And it looks like everything is right on schedule. Moving right along. We got to hear the heartbeat, sounds great. Got lab and NT scan results, all normal. Blood work is looking great. Sugar levels still great.

There are days when I can't believe how much it took just to make this baby, but I am so glad we did it. I am more happy than I could possibly be about becoming a mother and having a wonderful child. I'd do it all again for these moments.

We are going to Cali next week, see a best friend and her darling little one...oh and her hubby too. Also time for a football game and just seeing the sites. I plan on having a food crawl while there and just eat my way around town. Maybe that will add some weight to my body.

I have started to pooch a bit in the ab section. And if you know me, you know that I have GREAT ABS. Always have. Its the only thing good looking on this body of mine. But sadly they are gone now and instead of seeing lines on my belly I see a tummy!

Ok back to work. I am a slave to the mortgage world.

The Secret Life of the Pregnant Crazy Lady

For the past few days I have been plagued with serious migranie headaches. Ugh stupid Tylonol doesn't do ANYTHING! So today I have tried the take the tylonol with a can of coke. But then loe and behold I find a new Excedrine called Tension Headache. No asprin in it. Just Anacetamephin and caffine. I need this to work. I cannot be down with headaches for the next few weeks. So I will call the Dr. office tomorrow and make sure I can take this and hope is helps! Cause as everyone who knows me knows, I love Excedrin!

Ok and so Friday we got to see the little Tapeworm and the heartbeat. Everything looks great. THe NT scan shows baby is looking normal. The fluid they are checking for looks normal, no signs of any problems. And the brain looks great. They also made a guess of what the sex of the baby is....but its just a guess at this part...so far its looking like its a GIRL! Pretty exciting! We of course won't know more until next month. And I should be feeling movment in the next few weeks. I am so looking forward to that. Tapeworm is looking great, I am feeling good. We ordered the crib yesterday and my Mom got the baby bedding that we wanted.

Lastly yes I am neroutic. I worry about everything. But I take it in stride and try not to let it get to me. When I worry I just think it through, take it in and try to move on. However I still read up on everything and I keep thinking of all the good and bad that can happen. I keep hoping just for the good.

Oh one more thing. I want new clothes and shoes. And not because I am pregnant and getting slightly bigger. But because I want new pretty clothes and shoes. Its fall...I think its the thought of the old "going back to school" thing, getting new clothes and getting all pretty for the first day of school.

Ceaser Salad and No symptoms

So this week I will be 12 weeks on Thursday. And guess what this week started with??? I now feel NOTHING! Of course I am freaked out and worried. I am human and a woman after all. No more cravings, no sore ta-tas, no sick feeling, not as tired, not as hungry. What could be going on in there. Oh and did I mention that I still have no real belly to speak of...all I see down there is what I look like after Thanksgiving dinner! Come on Tapeworm, give me something.

In other related news..I have my NT scan and Blood work on Friday at 7AM. I cannot wait to see my little Tapeworm on TV again. I do hope everything is ok.

I am worrying my brain out. I am going to Babies R us at lunch and getting a doppler to see if I can hear the heartbeat. Yes I am freaking out that bad.

Things to NOT say to Someone with Infertility

1. Just relax it will happen in God's time, when you least expect it, in due time, when the time is right, after you quit trying.
2. Have you tried taking your temperature?
3. Have you used those Pee sticks that tell you when to do it?
4. Don't worry about it, enjoy your time being a non-parent, believe me when it happens you will wish you didn't try to hurry so much.
5. Really you are going thru shots and stuff to have a baby? Why not just adopt?
6. I have this book you should read.
7. After you go thru all of this Dr. stuff you are just going to magically get pregnant.
8. I heard that if you have sex every other day you will get pregnant.
9. Did you eat pineapple? Drink Tea? Take vitamins? Take fertility vitamins and gook.
10. I heard those fertility shots jump start your reproductive system, you are going to have babies for years to come.
11. I didn't have to try, in fact all I did was get drunk and here is little one. Did you try getting drunk?
12. I hear that if you have sex with your pants open on the end of the bed...
13. Try it drunk and in the back seat of the car, that's how the teenagers do it.
14. Well maybe if you wouldn't have waited so long to try.
15. This fertility stuff, aren't you going to end up like Jon and Kate plus 8. I bet you get 6 in there.
16. My Grandmother says, my aunt says, the wartman says...do it on your head.
17. Did you try laying on your back with your legs in the air? Did you stand on your head for 30 mins afterwards.
18. So what's wrong with you?
19. After this you are just going to end up pregnant without even trying.
20. Try adopting, everyone gets pregnant after adopting.

Really there is so much more but these are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
Infertility sucks. On all ends of the spectrum. Weather is a diagnosis of what condition you have or whether its unexplained infertility. Yes I know that people do IVF and then after having the baby magically end up pregnant with no help. Most of those people have unexplained infertility. I on the other hand, like so many other women, have it explained to me. I know what's wrong with me. The likely hood that this would have happened on my own is so out there I don't even think the Dr. can tell me what the odds are.
If someone around you is going thru this, be an ear, lend a shoulder to cry on, sympathize. I know its all we talk about, I know it consumes our lives...but we want this child more than anything and will do what it takes to get there. Its not that I can't carry a child, its that my body doesn't allow me to make one on my own. I thank God for the knowledge and expertise of our Doctors. I can't imagine being told I could never had a biological child of my own. And yes we would have adopted, but thankfully we were given this opportunity to have a blood relation. And you never know what our future holds for other children. No matter how they may come into our lives.

Other than that. I am feeling pretty good. Hungry more often but still eating small meals. Going home to cook tonight. I need real food and not food out to eat. Some crawfish tetrizzini, shrimp and tasso pasta with a cream sauce, Spaghetti and meatballs with red gravy and steak and potatoes with creamed spinach...that is the menu for the week. Nom nom nom says The TapeWorm!

I am having...

A tapeworm. Thats right. Forget a baby. I have a foreign body in my body! I eat all the time, I am sick if I eat, sick if I don't eat, I graze (mooo), and then I don't gain weight. Its a tapeworm I tell you. This is the nickname of the life form growing in my womb. Tapeworm.

Other than that here are my upcoming Dr. visits you know "due to my age" (fact: I am not OLD)

Sept 3 Perinatologist 1st trimester screen (screen for Downs Syndrome, Trisomy -21 and Trisomy -18) also screen for ITP (Ben's blood disorder he had) and Usher's syndrome (what Beth and Mark have) This will be blood work and ultrasound with Nuchal Translucency. Basically a super ultrasound with someone measuring babys fat cells and neck alignment along with brain formation.
Sept 8th Regular OB Height of uterus, weight and blood pressure, scheduling date for echocardiogram of my heart and baby's to test for how the pregangy is weighing on HOCM (what Granny has), Sugar Test for pre diabites and insulin resistance, Blood work. Also Ultrasound for baby size and dating of age and hearing the heartbeat.

I have heard its possible that the Perinatologist will tell us the sex of the baby...I've also heard that the cow jumped over the moon. So we shall see.

Work is wonky and nuts. We have double the amount of work right now and while good for the pocketbook not so great for the brain. It feels like mush.

Lastly...I am 10weeks pregnant today! 30 weeks to go! About 210 days. At least I am not an elephant. Twenty two months...you gotta be kidding.

Horrible blogger

Yes I've been MIA for two weeks. Ugh. But a lot has been going on. I was released from Dr Babymaker and sent onto regular OBGYN. She is really nice however we were totally spoiled by the expensive Dr who's office was always on time and getting to see the baby from week to week.
Everything is looking good. Baby heartbeat is 170bpm and measuring right on schedule. Waiting on results of updated blood work and other testing. But it all looks good. I find it strange the the Dr OB keeps talking about my age and what that means for this baby. Wait is she saying I am old?? Why yes she is and this makes this baby at risk for problems. So we have all this testing we have to go thru now. Ugh just when I thought being pregnant was enough to worry about. So up coming testing is lots more bloodwork for genenic diorders, deep ultra sounds for looks at neck and brain and other things, a test to look at my heart and the babys heart. Wow who knew there was so much?
The worse is waiting four weeks before seeing the Dr OB again! What??? I need a doppler ASAP! I need to hear the heartbeat so I know everything is ok. Can't I have an ultrasound machine at the house?
As for me. I'm fine. Somedays I feel a bit sick. I've puked a few times. I still dot eat alot at one time but I eat all day. I am always tired and alot more moody. I still worry everyday that this won't last, that I'll miscarry, tthat something will happen to the baby. But I am trying to continue to be positive and happy. The Mr. Doesn't want to get baby stuff until we are further along, I want to buy every baby thing I can find!
I am now 9 weeks and 2 days pregnant. And can't wait to hold this baby in my arms.
Oh and start on making baby no 2!!!
